A senseless massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday, Feb 14th has taken 17 lives including many young students, a geography teacher, an athletic director and a football coach. In addition, 14 other students are injured, some critically. This unspeakable tragedy has affected so many families. They are still recovering from the shock, disbelief and grief. The families need our community support and financial help to cope with the tragedy and the long road to recovery.
In the midst of the shooting, Shrimati Shanthi Viswanathan, one of the heroic school teachers saved many students by leading them to the safety of a locked class room and keeping vigil until the help arrived. She also has a history of service to underprivileged kids by supporting and raising funds for Ekal Vidyalaya. She has kindly agreed to identify needy families to distribute the funds we can raise.
VHP of America requests your kind contribution to help the victims and their families who are affected by this devastation. In the past, VHP of America has extended their help with volunteers and donated significant funds to the victims of 9/11 attack, Haiti earthquake, Fiji floods, Japan earthquake, Gujarat earthquake, Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, Harvey and Irma and numerous other disasters. We could not have helped the victims of these tragedies without your generous contributions. We appreciate your contribution and help in spreading the word to raise funds for the victims of the Florida Shooting.
