On December 26, 2025, Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) observed Veer Bal Divas through a solemn and reflective online program honoring the life of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the unparalleled sacrifice of his four sons, the Sahibzadas.
The program opened with moving Shabad Kirtan by Smt. Shuchita Rao ji and her student Achint Lehal, whose devotional renditions set a contemplative tone of remembrance and reverence. The featured speakers for the event were Sh. Bhupinder Singh ji, Overseas Editor of The Sikh Review, and Advocate Pashmeen Kaur, a practicing lawyer at the Supreme Court of India. Their addresses reflected on the moral courage, spiritual clarity, and enduring civilizational significance of the Sahibzadas’ martyrdom.
Veer Bal Divas commemorates the supreme sacrifice of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, who were executed in 1704 for refusing forced conversion, as well as the valor of the elder Sahibzadas, Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh, who laid down their lives on the battlefield. Together, their lives stand as a timeless testament to faith, dignity, and resistance to tyranny.
VHPA extends its sincere gratitude to the supporting partner organizations and to all attendees who joined in this observance. This year marked VHPA’s first commemoration of Veer Bal Divas, and the organization plans to make it an annual event, alongside the observance of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Shaheedi Divas, to honor a shared legacy of sacrifice and dharma.
