Help victims of Jammu Kashmir Floods

Donations to help the victims of Floods in Kashmir, India

 

The flood situation has worsened in Jammu and Kashmir (September 7th, 2014) as more areas have submerged in the waters leaving a trail of death and destruction. The death toll has reached 160 due to floods in Jammu-Kashmir area. Thousands of families are still stranded and awaiting help in their homes across the valley. South Kashmir districts are the worst hit by the catastrophe with many areas still cut off from the headquarters. Over 30 per cent of capital Srinagar city is under flood waters. Over 1Million population is affected in Jammu division. Jammu city has been cut off from Pathankote after authorities closed down the three important bridges on Tawi. The fourth bridge on Tawi has been damaged due to gushing waters. Indian army has pressed 103 columns into service to help in rescue and relief of the people affected by the worst ever floods in Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 11,000 civilians have been rescued so far. 2000 civilians have been provided food and temporary shelters.

VHP of America has extended their help with volunteers to help in Katrina and 911 disasters. We raised and donated large sum of funds to the victims of Katrina, 911 attack, Haiti earth quake,

Fiji Flood victims, Japan earth quake, Gujarat earth quake, Hurricane Sandy and numerous other disasters. We could not help the victims of these disasters without your generous contribution. We appreciate your contribution and spreading the word to raise funds for the victims of this devastating flood disaster in Kashmir, India.
